Trusts have been around in English law since the 12th Century crusade period. They initially served wealthy landowners who had to transfer ownership of their property for administration purposes while away overseas indefinitely.
Trusts implement different types of “ownership” so that trustees may be appointed to look after your assets for your chosen “beneficiaries”, those whom you intend to benefit from the assets.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

It’s never too early to think about setting up lasting powers of attorney (LPAs). In fact, the sooner the better as you must have capacity when you set them up.
You can appoint attorneys to manage your financial affairs OR your health and welfare OR both.
